On Tuesday, April 6, at 7:00 PM, the Greater Astoria Historical Society's acclaimed lecture series continues with Preservation: Two Approaches with Herb Reynolds of the Sunnyside Gardens Preservation Alliance and representatives from Norwood Gardens, who will talk about their efforts in rallying neighbors to keep their communities the way they were first planned. Issues at Landmark Designation, covenants, and zoning issues will be examined.
As special treat, we will also host a brief talk by Tony Rohling of Sunnyside United Neighborhood Network about Sunnyside's fight against graffiti. It's the most successful anti-graffiti effort in western Queens! Rounding out the program will be a representative from H.A.N.A.C.'s Lead Abatement Program.
