The tremendous amount of historical and community content
available on this website is thanks to the great work of GAHS member and trustee Tom
Jackson. Mr. Jackson created the initial site in 1999 and, over the years, grew
it to its current size, including information about the society and its
previous events, neighborhoods of Long Island City, hundreds of historical
photos, highlights of more than 120 years of the old Long Island Star-Journal and E-commerce.
