ABOUT GAHS: BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Web Developer

GAHS is looking for Web/Computer Savvy volunteers interested in history and web development to help with our web site.

Volunteers should have:

  • Familiarity with FTP, DNS & Hosting Accounts
  • Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Access, Outlook)
  • Time to put in 1-2 hours a week on web updates and attend 1-2 meetings per month.
  • Graphic Design & Digital Imaging Skills are a plus

Training will be provided where necessary.

Grant Writer Needed

Do you have experience writing grant proposals? We need your help. There are many opportunities for the Greater Astoria Historical Society to receive grant money. We need an experienced volunteer to help us find sources, fill out the forms and do follow-up. Please e-mail us at info@astorialic.org.

Press Person Needed

Do you have media experience? We need your help. There are many opportunities for the Greater Astoria Historical Society to promote our community in the media. We need an experienced volunteer to help us write up and send out press releases, talk to reporters, tape lectures and take pictures at events, and to do follow-up press releases after events.
